FR Conversions Mobility Vans

Factory-quality wheelchair accessible vans — minivans your riders recognize and full-size vans that move more people. Ramps or lifts, side or rear entry, every build fully ADA-compliant.

The FR Difference

One Floor. Every Configuration. Forever.

Most conversions bolt a fixed layout through the floor — the configuration you order is the configuration you own. FR builds every van differently: the engineered floor in every vehicle already carries the mount points for maximum wheelchair positions and maximum seating. What you order determines what gets installed — not what's possible later.

Need three seats and four wheelchair positions today, but eight seats and two wheelchair positions in two years? On a ProMax or Transit, that's a reconfiguration, not a new vehicle. Your routes change; your van keeps up.

Same idea on the minivans: every Long Cut RE floor is built with cot-mount provisions already in place. NEMT operators who want to add stretcher service down the road install a kit — the mount points are already in the floor.

Why FR Conversions

Conversions Engineered, Not Improvised

Full ADA Compliance

Compliant access and securements on every build — minivan door openings run 58 inches, beyond the 56-inch requirement.

Reconfigurable by Design

Every floor is built with all the mount points in it. Change the seat/wheelchair mix later with a kit — not a new van.

Ramps & Lifts Done Right

Minivans use spring-assisted manual ramps with no motorized wear parts. Full-size Transits and ProMasters use proven Braun wheelchair lifts.

Platforms You Already Service

Chrysler, Toyota, Ford, and RAM chassis — parts and service anywhere, strong resale when you rotate the fleet.

Chrysler Pacifica & Voyager

Long Cut RE · Side Entry · Taxi Cut RE · Crosswind

America’s most familiar minivan, converted for full ADA access. Choose rear entry (long cut for maximum interior length, or taxi cut for a shorter conversion), or side entry with an in-floor ramp. New stock packages make ordering simple: R1/R2 for retail-suited builds, F1/F2 for fleet-suited builds.

Full-Size Vans

More Riders, More Positions

Two chassis, one mission. Prefer the low floor and front-wheel drive of the RAM ProMaster, or the proven rear-wheel-drive Ford Transit? Both carry the same FR conversion quality underneath — pick the platform your team prefers and we'll build to it.

Which One Fits?

Minivan or Full-Size?

Choose a minivan when you're moving one or two wheelchair riders at a time and want car-like ride quality, better fuel economy, easy parking, and the strongest resale value. It's the right answer for most families, taxi and NEMT operators, and smaller senior living communities.

Choose a full-size van when capacity is the constraint — multiple wheelchair positions, mixed ambulatory and wheelchair loads, or route work where one vehicle needs to do the job of two minivans.

Not sure? Tell us about your riders and routes and we'll give you a straight recommendation — including when the answer is the cheaper vehicle.

Good Questions

Mobility Van Questions, Answered

Straight answers to the questions van buyers ask us most.

What’s the difference between rear-entry and side-entry?

Rear-entry conversions load the wheelchair from the back — they preserve both front-row doors, park in any standard space, and generally cost less. Side-entry loads from the passenger side via an in-floor ramp, letting the wheelchair rider sit mid-cabin or drive-position. Rear entry suits most commercial and NEMT work; side entry suits owner-operators and riders who want cabin position flexibility. See our full guide: Rear-Entry vs Side-Entry Wheelchair Vans.

Ramp or lift — which do I get?

Minivans (Pacifica, Voyager, Sienna) use spring-assisted manual ramps. Full-size vans (Ford Transit, RAM ProMaster) use Braun wheelchair lifts. It’s a function of floor height, not a preference option.

How fast can I get a wheelchair van?

FR Conversions stock packages can deliver in as little as a week. The R1/R2 packages are retail-suited builds, F1/F2 are fleet-suited — pre-configured so you’re not waiting on a custom build.

What chassis can I get a full-size mobility van on?

Two: the Ford Transit and the RAM ProMaster (FR’s ProMax line). They’re different vehicles with different strengths — the ProMaster’s low floor and 56" between the wheel wells makes for an unusually flat, wide cargo floor.

What’s a secure transport van?

An FR configuration built for correctional, behavioral health, and detention transport — secured compartments and hardware rated for the job. We can spec these; ask for the secure transport sheet.

What warranty covers the conversion?

FR Conversions backs the conversion with a limited warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, and the chassis keeps its full factory warranty — Chrysler Pacifica and RAM ProMaster at 5 years/100,000 miles, Toyota Sienna Hybrid and Ford Transit at 5 years/60,000 miles. Warranty repairs happen at FR-approved shops near you, or we’ll set the work up with your local service shop and handle the claim with FR.
